Lauding the successful conduct of Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) examination in the hill districts of Manipur, Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) and Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL) have thanked the Education Minister and other tribal MLAs for their relentless effort in fulfilling the demands and aspiration of the hill people.
In a press communique issued on Sunday evening, TKS president Yangmi Khapai expressed gratitude to Education Minister Okendro for keeping his promises made last year on holding the TET examination in larger interest of the hill districts.
''Minister Okendro deserved a big appreciation.
He has achieved what others could not...
and testified his concerns for tribal students,'' said the statement jointly issued by TKS and RKL.
TKS and RKL also thanked the tribal MLAs for their efforts in realising the demands and wishes of the hill people.
On Sunday morning, Chingai AC legislator MK Preshaw Shimray inspected the TET exam centres in Ukhrul.
A source said the MLA's visit was particularly made to ensure smooth conduct of the exam in the district.
The statement also mentioned that more than 3,000 candidates turned up for the test held in two centres and lauded MLA MK Preshaw for his deep concerns for the Ukhrul district.
