No Govt hospital in Manipur empanelled under RSBY

Executive Director of Manipur State Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) Society, N S Gokulmani has stated that none of the government-run hospitals in the State are empanelled for providing facilities under the centrally sponsored health insurance by people living under Below Poverty Line (BPL) in Manipur.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao on the implementation of RSBY in the state, Gokulmani informed that since the launched of the scheme in Manipur 2010, a total of 62664 beneficiaries have been enrolled.
So, far private hospitals namely Langol View Charitable Clinic & Maternity Home, Kombirel Keithel; Shija Hospital & Research Institute Pvt.
Ltd, Langol; Raj Polyclinic, North AOC; Public Hospital & Research Institute, Hatta Minuthong and very recently Sky Hospital & Research Center, RIMS Road have been empanelled under RSBY and they providing treatment services to poor patients.
All the required technology and training are being provided to all these empanelled hospitals.
However, none of the Government run hospitals have been empanelled so far.
In fact, when approached, JNIMS refused to empanel as participating hospital, Gokulmani disclosed.
He explained that under the scheme, Center provides 90% of the premium amount while state contributes the remaining 10%.A maximum of five persons from a BPL family is selected and issued biometric enabled smart cards for availing the benefits.
The participating hospital would have to deduct the medical expenses of the beneficiary amounting upto Rs 30 thousand from his/her smart card.
In Manipur, smart cards have been issued in 6 (six) districts and the state government is being pressed for inclusion of the remaining districts namely Imphal West, Chandel and Senapati.
