Conspirator in railway official murder held

Imphal, March 18 2011:
An UTLA (United Tribal Liberation Army) activist alleged of being a conspirator in the murder of an official of the Bharati Construction Company engaged in railway track laying work in Jiribam, was apprehended by troops of 22 Assam Rifles, police said.
The troops nabbed the activist on March 15 from Leishabithol village, Jiribam and was handed over to the Jiribam police on the next day.
During verification, V Robert Singshan @ Roshan Kuki (29) son of NL Singshan of Vangaichungpao village of Tamenglong district admitted that he had hatched the plan to kill Pintu Das, site in-charge of the railway construction at Jiribam on the night of February 8, police said.
He was involved in extortion by sending a demand letter to Bharati Construction Company and conspiring to kill Pintu Das, site in-charge of Bharati Construction Company for not meeting the demand, an FIR case lodged in the Jiribam PS said.
Pintu Das (32) son of Anil Das of Tripura's Kumatghat, mention may be made, was shot dead by miscreants while he was in his make shift office near the railway construction site.
