Imphal, November 11 2017:
Reacting to a statement/order issued by MPSC in connection with an RTI application filed by advocate Th Lucy about the MCSCC (main) examination 2016, the Group of MPSC Aspirants has raised a number of questions.
Quoting MPSC Secretary's written reply which says that "And whereas the Commission had in consultation with the examiners decided to re-check certain number of answer scripts which led to allotment of new marks in certain answer scripts", Group of MPSC Aspirants convenor Sorokhaibam Robertson asked as to why MPSC re-checked certain answer scripts rather than re-checking all answer scripts.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Robertson asked who told them (MPSC) to re-check certain answer scripts and allot new marks.
Saying that evaluation of answer scripts completed on October 3, 2016 and the exam result was declared on the next day, the convenor further asked when was the re-checking of answer scripts done.
Notably, MPSC issued the particular order/statement in response to an RTI application filed by advocate Th Lucy on June 14 this year seeking scanned copies of answer sheets -with marks allotted to 82 candidates in the MCSCC (Main) Examination 2016 . Even as the MPSC's SPIO informed advocate Lucy on July 3 that the information she requested was of third party and therefore could not be divulged under section 11 of the RTI Act 2015, the advocate filed another application on Oct tober 10 after which the MPSC issued the particular order/C statement, Robertson added.
