Jiribam, November 11 2017:
The newly constructed Jiribam 50- bedded Government hospital located at Ningsingkhul, Jiribam is plagued by a gamut of problems.
Lack of sufficient doctors has been a major problem ever since the hospital was inaugurated two years ago.
Besides the dearth of doctors, the irony is that the patients bed are shabby and the toilet, which is attached to the female ward, is so untidy even normal people are appealed by the odour.
It may be recalled that the hospital was shifted from erstwhile CHC Jiribam two years ago after constructing well setup infrastructures at Ningsingkhul and people of Jiribam had expected that this would at least bring some improvement in the situation of health care facilities in Jiribam but the present conditions of the hospital has shattered all the expectation of people.
There are eight or nine doctors in the hospital but there are no specialist doctors for gynaecology, Paediatrician and medicine specialist.
The monitoring committee of CHC, Jiribam, hiad submitted several memorandum to the authorities concerned but the demands have not been fulfilled till date.
