B Gamnom killing: KNF-N clarifies, Kpi CSOs warn of 24 hour total shutdown

Kangpokpi, November 09 2021:
Kuki National Front (Nehlun), a non-SoO militant outfit, has clarified that the outfit has no relation with the self-styled vice chairman of KNF-N, Mangsat Haokip as alleged by the State police.
The outfit's Information and Publicity secretary, Gou alias Kuki stated that the branding of Mangsat Haokip from N Boljang village, Kangpokpi District as self-styled vice chairman of KNF-N by the state police has nothing to with the outfit as he [Mangsat Haokip] has no connection with the outfit.
While terming the allegation of the state police as baseless and false, the outfit clarified that the outfit does not know who Mangsat Haokip is as there is no cadre and leader of KNF-N in the name of Mangsat Haokip.
It also stated that the allegation was made to confuse the public and tarnish the image of the outfit while appealing to the public not to be carried away by such misleading and false statements.
Meanwhile, civil society organizations of Kangpokpi district in a public notice urged the concerned authority to release the individuals arrested in connection with B Gamnom killing by November 10 and warned of intensified agitation in case of failure to meet their demands.
It stated that the CSOs of Kangpokpi would be compelled to launch intensified forms of agitation from November 11 while reiterating its claim that the trio were innocent and had no relation with KNF-N, rather they were drug users.
In this regard, the CSOs Kangpokpi had also served three days ultimatum to the State Government and the concerned authorities to release the three innocent persons without any condition since they had no connection with the militant outfit and gruesome B Gamnom killing.
The CSOs further warned of a 24 hour total shutdown in Kangpokpi district in case of failure to release the innocent trio within the stipulated time while appealing to the public to cooperate with its movement to deliver justice.
