Imphal, November 18 2021:
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has appealed the State machinery concerned to complete the enquiry surrounding the public complaints raised in regards to the admission process of Dhanamanjuri College of Teacher Education, before offline classes commence.
As per a press release issued today, AMSU has also requested DMCTE to cancel the Inaugural-Cum-Orientation Programme which was supposed to be conducted on November 19.The press release stated that the admission process of DMCTE had been halted as per an order issued on September 23 from the Deputy Secretary, Higher Education and a three-member enquiry committee was formed to look into the matter.
AMSU has discovered that due to the halting of the admission process, only 91 seats out of 100 in Teacher Training Pre-Service were filled while no admission had been made for the 50 seats of In-Service course, the statement added.
Hence, the students' organisation has expressed apprehension regarding the commencement of offline classes when the admission process is still under enquiry which could put the academic careers of many students in peril.
As such, AMSU has appealed to the concerned state department to look into the matter and complete the enquiry at the earliest so as to alleviate the worries faced by students in this regard and resume normal classes after the matter has been laid to rest.
