Imphal, November 18 2021:
In the wake of the court's rejection of CBI closure report on Babysana death case and returning the same for further investigation, JAC against the murder of Ningthoujam Babysana convener Laishram Gyaneshori said that sincere investigating officer and police officers should handle the case in fresh investigation.
Addressing media persons on Thursday at Babysana's residence, Gyaneshori recounted that the case was handed over to the CBI as per an order of the High Court of Manipur.
Though the CBI submitted closure report of its findings to the CJM Imphal West court, the court rejected the closure report on the ground of incomplete and erroneous compilation of the report and directed further investigation, she said, adding that irresponsible officers and IO of CBI Kolkata who took part in the earlier investigation should not be a party in the fresh investigation as to get the truth about the case.
She also demanded that sincere and dutiful officers and IO be allowed to handle the ease in fresh investigation and CBI Kolkata should use their techniques and methods in recording statements of accused and witnesses rather than using normal recording of statements.
It was very unfortunate that CBI had mentioned Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School boarding registered under Manipur Shops and Establishment Act, 1972 in its report though the reports of Singjamei police and SIT said that the boarding was opened illegally, Gyaneshori said, adding that the CBI report also missed Manipur police's finding of abusing children stayed at the boarding in violation of JJ Act 2000 norms.
The CBI should also look into the police report, she added.
While demanding that true blood groups and DNA profiles of all accused and victim's mother and father be brought out and all those involved in killing the student be punished as per.
law after finding the truth, the JAC convener also called for ending incidents of abusing and killing students in the state.
