MoS RK Ranjan stresses on vocational education

Union minister of state for education and external affairs Dr RK Ranjan has emphasised the importance of providing vocational education to students.
While attending a felicitation function organised for him by teaching, non-teaching staff and students of MB College, Palace Compound on Thursday, Dr RK Ranjan expressed dissatisfaction over the poor performance of Manipur University which failed to feature in the list of top 200 universities of the country.
He stressed the need for more efforts to improve the ranking of the university.
The country had a vibrant educational background but the sector is experiencing a setback in the past few years.
It is the reason why the Modi government has brought out the National Education Policy.
The public need to understand its importance and support the policy, he said and added that the NEP has substantial room for providing vocational education to students.
