Imphal, November 18 2021:
Noting that Indian leaders and media heroes have been trying to label the PLA as a terrorist and monster citing the Sehken ambush of November 13, the proscribed RPF, PLA's political wing, has rebuffed the same propaganda as erroneous.
A statement issued by the outfit's Deputy Secretary, Publicity Roben Khuman asserted the PLA knows that in a battle there are collateral damages though as a principle of a revolutionary fighter, the PLA always tries to avoid harming innocent people specially women and children.
Unlike the Indian Army, on many occasions in the past, the PLA aborted their plan of attacking Indian military forces simply because of the presence of women and children, vivid examples of which were seen at Komkeirak, Keishamthong and many more.
The Indian Army and Manipur police have full knowledge about those examples, it claimed and quoted Sanjiv Krishan Sood, retired Additional Director General of Border Security Force "...the militants (of Manipur) never attacked convoys at those times in order to avoid collateral damage".
Terming the death of a mother and a child in the recent ambush as very sad and unfortunate, the outfit prayed "May their souls rest in peace" .
"We had no prior knowledge of their presence in the particular convoy.
If we knew, there might be a different scenario", it said.
It is India's general character to howl and blame others to hide their mistakes and incompetence.
Instead of labelling the PLA as terrorist or extremist or monster, it is better to study how and why a Commanding Officer of a unit protected by India's one of the finest Commando Ghatak Force was killed in a mere PLA ambush.
Besides, in 1997 at Geneva, RPF had declared to abide by the Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, it said and went on to ask as to why India is still not accepting the same Common Article 3 .
Moreover, think tanks of India and their military forces have been projecting the RPF and its army PLA as a faction of the UNLF which is absolutely wrong.
RPF is a new organisation formed by a few former members of RGM (Revolutionary Government of Manipur) and new recruits, Roben Khuman asserted.
Leaders and members of RGM were arrested and detained for many years by Government of India in Tripura.
Being defeated by sugar-coated bullets of the enemy, they took general amnesty enjoying the illusion of the rehabilitation programme of the then Government in the early 1970s.Subsequently they had forgotten the value of revolution and turned out to be pseudo and counter revolutionary, it said.
However, a few members of RGM reorganised the people with a new spirit of the Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong thought and led the revolution of the people by organising a new army of the people, the People's Liberation Army in 1978 and had dissolved the then RGM (RGM Its Failure and Its Two Lines of Struggle, DAWN: Volume III, a PLA Publication), it added.
