Imphal, February 11 2016:
BJP Mani-pur Pradesh has accused the Congress Government of com-mitting all kinds of wrong- doings without executing any significant development pro-jects during the last 14 years.
Speaking to media persons at their Nityaipat Chuthek office here today, BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary (administration) M Asnikumar said that the Congress Government is unable to make development projects and public infrastructure like good roads, potable water, health care facilities and quality education accessible to the people.
Governance is literally non-existent in hill areas thereby seriously impacting hill people.
Even though the State Government has received funds sanctioned by the Centre in health sector and for many welfare schemes, there is no sign of the State Government implementing any welfare schemes.
For opening a Nursing School each in five districts of the State during 2010-11, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare sanctioned Rs five crore for each of the proposed Nursing School in January 2011 .
The total amount was sent to the State Government in the form of demand draft in March 2011.According to the proposal, five Nursing Schools should be set up at Chandel, Senapati, Tameng-long, Ukhrul and Bishnupur.
The Health Directorate deposited the amount in Punjab and Sind Bank in April 2011.But there is no sign of opening the Nursing Schools till date, Asnikumar said.
The Ministry approved Rs 8.73 crore for construction of a Community Health Centre (CHC) at Jiribam under NLCPR in 2010.The Ministry released Rs 1.81 crore on November 10, 2010.A similar amount was released on June 10, 2014.Thus the Ministry has so far released Rs 3.63 crore for construction of the CHC.
Again the Ministry of DoNER approved Rs 22.59 crore for construction of nine PHCs and another Rs 28.89 crore for construction of 46 PHSCs in 2010.Of the nine PHCs, two should be constructed in Churachandpur, one in Chandel, four in Senapati and two in Ukhrul.
Out of the 46 PHSCs, 13 should be built in Churachandpur, four in Chandel, 14 in Senapati, four in Tamenglong and 10 in Ukhrul.
Till December last, DoNER Ministry released around Rs 46 crore to the State Government for construction of the PHCs and the PHSCs.
However, there is no sign of building any of these health centres, Asnikumar decried.
In addition, huge amounts have been sanctioned to the State Government since 2007 under the National Rural Health Mission.
Misappropriation of funds sanctioned for improvement of health sector is a crime against humanity.
Saying that he is citing health sector just as an example, Asnikumar asserted that such wrongdoings are rampant in other sectors too under the Congress Government.
He further demanded the State Government to bring out a white paper on the schemes and projects it implemented between 2007 and 2015 .
