World Menstrual Hygiene Day : DBC Maram conducts menstrual hygiene awareness program

The NSS Unit I and Unit II of Don Bosco College (Autonomous) Maram organized Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Program in collaboration with Adolescent Health Division, Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) Senapati district today in connection with the observance of World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
Speaking as the resource person at the event, Dr Agui Rk, District Nodal Officer (DNO), Senapati district exhorted adolescent girls to "keep menstrual hygiene right, to make your future bright" .
She also broadened the knowledge and ideas of adolescent girls about 'Menstrual Hygiene Management' and raised awareness about challenges regarding access to menstrual products, and education about menstruation and period friendly sanitation facilities.

The program began with a welcome note from Fr Shilanand Kerketta SDB, Vice Principal and Controller of Examination of the College.
It was followed by speeches from Sr Cecilia Thaimei, Vice Principal and Sr Sweta William CCV, former NSS program Officer.
They encouraged the girls and exhorted them to make more and more women aware of the importance of menstrual hygiene for a better life.
The 150 adolescent girls present at the awareness program were made to realize that every step towards maintaining menstrual hygiene is of great importance and it must never be underestimated or ignored.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sr Ethel Sochanphi FMA.
