Imphal, May 28 2022:
Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has urged the authorities concerned to take up immediate measures to start the course work for PhD programmes at Teacher Education Department, Manipur University (MU) .
KSA in a press release expressed concern over the pending six months course work for PhD programmes at Teacher Education Department, MU though the pre-PhD result was declared and admission process was completed in October last year.
KSA maintained that the long delay in the initiation of course work for Phd programmes has dampened the spirit of the selected research scholars of the Department.
Raising questions over the cause of delay, KSA called for clarifications over the matter from the authorities concerned of MU and the Department.
The student body termed it really unfortunate that the Teacher Education Department which is responsible for educating and training those who wish to pursue the teaching profession is unable to even start the course work for PhD programmes.
Such an irresponsible act from the part of Manipur University which is a premiere educational institute will affect the parameters of NAAC and NIRF, added the student body.
Therefore KSA urged the authorities concerned to probe the matter at the earliest and help in speedy initiation of course work for PhD programmes in the interest of the aspiring research scholars inorder to save their career.
