Imphal, December 19 2019:
The NSCN/GPRN, while appreciating the unflinching stand of the Nagas and the whole North East (WESEA) people for coming together with one voice in denouncing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019, has vowed that it would go to any length to defend the Naga people as well as their rights and land.
A statement issued by NSCN/GPRN MIP in-charge Lt Col Joseph Lamkang conveyed solidarity to all the oppressed people affected by the alleged Indian totalitarian rule.
The CAA is biased and hostile in nature and it exposes the hidden ideology of the present Government, it remarked.
The CAB was specially amended to sideline and target others based on religious ground which implies that Indian secularism is dying slowly, it said.
The rebel group warned that CAA and other such similar Acts which are likely to be implemented in near future are bound to have adverse impacts on WESEA politically, economically, culturally and religiously.
The CAA would legalise and escalate the influx of illegal migrants from neighbouring countries, increasing the already overwhelming illegal population.
The result will dramatically change the regional demography beyond repair, it said.
Some of the elected Naga politicians jumped to the conclusion by blindly supporting CAB without even consulting the people they represent, it said.
They are exposing their political immaturity and short-sightedness.
They had lost their credibility as elected leaders by trusting too much in the Modi Government.
They owe an explanation to the Naga people for their decisions, asserted the rebel group.
On August 5, the Government of India revoked the Constitutional autonomy of Kashmir which protected the historical rights of the Kashmiris.
Tomorrow it could be Nagas and the Government of India would not hesitate to implement its tainted policies, it alleged.
India's long term policy is to completely assimilate and subjugate the North East region.
"Unless we are completely sovereign, we will cease to exist as people.
The present Indian laws would not protect our land, our identity and right to live as free and honourable people", it added.
