AR celebrates Advent Christmas

Joupi Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Advent Christmas at Saibol Joupi village under Khenjoy Sub Division of Chandel district.
A total of 455 people including kids from five different villages around Joupi villages attended the celebration at Saibol Joupi, said PRO, IGAR.
As part of the celebration, Central Mass Prayer and Kuki traditional dance were organized by the villagers of Saibol village.
The Santa from Joupi Battalion entertained the kids and the local population apart from distributing gifts and chocolates to the kids.
The students of the Joupi Primary School also performed kuki folk dance during the event, which was attended by all the locals, village chief, secretaries and Pastor of the local Churches.
The locals and village chiefs conveyed heartfelt greetings to the Assam Rifles for kick starting the festive season of Christmas and hosting the wonderful event.
On the other hand, Mantripukhri and Tulihal Battalions of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) celebrated the joy of Christmas with the less-privileged children and women of various NGOs of Imphal yesterday.
Shubhra Kabthiyal, Zonal president, Assam Rifles Wives Association (ARWWA) along with other ladies of ARWWA visited Sneha Bhawan and Dorcas group and extended warm Christmas greetings to the children and women.
The spirit of Christmas was celebrated with traditional Christmas carols and prayers for peace and harmony, sung by children of the NGOs.
Ladies of the ARWWA interacted with all the children and women present at Sneha Bhawan and Dorcas Group.
The festive season was further brightened by the early Christmas gifts presented to the NGOs.
President ARWWA gifted a refrigerator, water storage tank, shawls, utility hampers containing daily use items and eatables to the NGOs.
The program concluded with cake cutting and refreshment for all the attendees.
The NGOs expressed gratitude to the kind gesture and requested for more such interaction in the future and wished merry Christmas to all rank and families of Assam Rifles.
