Left parties bandh cripple life at Bishnupur

Bishnupur, December 19 2019:
A 12-hour general strike called by different Left Parties against the amended Citizenship Act has crippled life at Bishnupur District.
Several markets of the District including Kumbi Keithel, Moirang Keithel, Kwakta Keithel, Ningthoukhong Keithel, Bishnupur Keithel, Oinam Keithel, Nambol Keithel were all shut down and the number of women vendors were comparatively 'very low' .
Majority of inter-district and inter-village passenger service provider as well as vehicles of Manipur State Transport were not available for the day, except for a few Auto and E-Rickshaw.
The bandh, however, was relaxed for all emergencies and ritual occasions.
Though important institutions, schools and colleges were opened, numbers of employees and students were also very low as compared with a normal day.
Nationalist Banks and Post Offices of the district were also all closed.
Though police personnel were deployed at strategic locations, report of unwanted incident was not received from the District.
The bandh was called by CPI, CPI(M), RSP and Forward Bloc.
