3 days training prog starts

Directorate of Extension Education, CAU, Lamphelpat, under the sponsorship of ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, UMIAM, Meghalaya, kick-started a three days training programme on Bioflok Technology and Fish Health Management for extension personnel at CAU HQ, Lamphelpat today.
CAU Vice Chancellor Professor M Premjit Singh, Director of Instruction, CAU, Dr S Basanta Singh and Director, Extension Education, CAU Imphal, Professor RK Saha attended the event as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Speaking at the function, Professor M Premjit said that around 90 percent of Manipur is comprised of hills and expressed desire for aqua culture to be adopted in the hill areas as it would be very beneficial.
This will ensure increase in fish production in the State, he explained.
It will be beneficial to analyse Loktak Lake for fisheries and aqua culture prospects, he said, adding that the villages can also be made aware of low cost technology for cage culture and pen culture.
