Imphal, January 20, 2012::
As per the resolution of its cabinet meeting of January 20, GPRN/NSCN has announced that it would not interfere in the forthcoming 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections, said a statement issued by MIP, GPRN/NSCN.
It is stated that Naga people have been struggling for their right to self determination and it would be a betrayal if GPRN/NSCN fights for an Indian political party.
The organisation would not be lured into supporting one Indian political party within the Indian Constitution because of its commitment to the Naga people is outside the parameter of Indian Constitution, it added.
It is also asserted that participating in Indian election will not bring a political solution for the Nagas.
It further informed that there is no authorization or endorsement on any GPRN/NSCN official, either in civil and military, to represent the GPRN/NSCN, for or agaist any political party or candidate in the forthcoming elections.
