Polling day to be a holiday

Imphal, January 20, 2012::
The State government today announced that all the government offices, Private sectors, Public undertakings, Schools and establishments will remain close on the day of election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly which falls on January 28, according to an order of the Under Secretary, GAD S Lokendra.
According to the order, banks, financial institutes and LIC offices will also enjoy public holiday on the day.
The order also stated that the Labour Commissioner should take up all necessary actions to make it a paid holiday for employees of Commercial and Industrial Establishments in Private Sectors Undertakings.
