Imphal, July 19 2015 :
Apart from its abject failure in terms of maintaining law and order, the incumbent Congress Government is indulging in the highest degree of corruption, asserted BJP Tripura in-charge Sunil Deodhar.
Speaking at an event titled Maha Sampark Abhiyan held at the State BJP office here today, Sunil Deodhar called upon the gathering to expose the highly corrupt Congress Government and abolish the Congress party from the soil of Manipur in order to pave way for a corruption free, transparent BJP Government.
Ahead of the forthcoming mid-term polls and the next State Assembly election, all the corrupt practices and misdeeds of the Congress Government should be exposed to the public.
Corruption level at Delhi has declined by almost 80 per cent since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister.
Now the people of the country can see a transparent Government at the Centre, he claimed.
There were only two BJP MPs at one point of time.
But the party won absolute majority in the last Lok Sabha election which clearly reflected people's growing faith in the party.
Now BJP is the largest political party in the world with the highest number of members, Sunil Deodhar said.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba claimed that BJP is the only party for the people, particularly the poor.
In addition to initiating a number of welfare programmes, the country's economic and foreign policies have seen a substantial upturn since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister.
Questioning whether the Congress Government has done anything substantial for the people of Manipur during their 13 years rule, Chaoba asserted that law and order have collapsed under the Congress Government.
While transport facilities have been only deteriorating, the Government is unable to provide regular power supply to the public.
He called upon all party leaders as well workers to invest maximum efforts in order to defeat Congress candidates in the mid-term polls to the three Assembly segments of Thangmeiband, Thongju and Wangoi.
Meanwhile, BJP Mahila Morcha president RK Pramodini has questioned the failure of the Congress-led UPA Government to get the women reservation Bill passed during their 10 years rule.
It would be misplaced to blame the NDA Government for not passing the Bill since the NDA Government is just one year old, and the Bill is still debated.
Even though the Bill has been delayed at the National level, 50 per cent reservation for women has been already implemented in Madhya Pradesh.
A similar step could have been initiated in Manipur at the level of the Chief Minister if the incumbent Government is sincerely concerned about the plight of women.
Making irrelevant statement before media by Mahila Congress while concealing such hard facts will only backfire, Pramodini said.
Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress should introspect why the National Food Security Act is still not implemented in Manipur, she added.
Mahila Congress' decision to go to Delhi and urge for women reservation Bill is a good step but it is quite untimely in view of the State's raging issue about ILPS, said BJP Manipur Mahila Morcha general secretary L Bobby.
Sidelining the issue of ILPS at such a critical hour lacks rationale and rhyme, she asserted.
