Zougam Tumtai held

The Zougam Tumtai organized by 39 AR to revive the rich traditions and customs in the Zou community which were fading as a result of Hip Hop culture was held at Maulum on July 18.Living upto its motto "Friends of the Hill People", every possible help was provided to the community to make it a grand success by 39 Assam Rifles and 1/11 Gorkha Rifles of 27 Sector under the Red Shield Division.
A number of traditional folk songs and dances were organized on this occasion.
Commandant Vineet Sharma spoke about the importance of staying connected with the roots and following the rich traditions of the Zou community.
Such functions where the old are honoured by the society will bridge the gap between the Security Forces and local population, bringing them closer and helping in restoring normalcy in the entire region.
