State level workshop on Tribal Art & Painting concludes

The valedictory function of the 3 day State level workshop on skill upgradation/capacity build ing on Tribal Art & Painting today.
The workshop was organized by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Department of Tribal Affairs & Hills in collaboration with Imphal Art College as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations with the support of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, said a press release issued by the Director TA & H/TRI, C Arthur Worchuiyo.
Speaking as the chief guest of the occasion, Dr V Haokip, Joint Director, Tribal Affairs & Hills Department thanked the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs and officials of the Ministry for the special attention given to TRI Manipur.
Motivating the participants, he stressed on various opportunities for career advancement available in the field of tribal art and painting.
Dwelling on the various aspects and benefits of art, he stated that art and painting is important not only to enhance livelihood through quality artistic works, preservation and promotion of culture but is important to lead a healthy balanced life.
The function was also graced by Haobam Devabrata Singh, HOD, Painting, Imphal Art College and K Dillikumar, HOD, Applied Art, Imphal Art College, added the press release.
It may be noted that the activities in connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations organized by Tribal Research Institute will culminate on November 22 on the completion of a 3 Day State level workshop on skill upgradation/capacity building on Pottery and clay modelling to be held from November 19-22, 2021 .
