Association of the Tiddim Road Commercial Vehicle Transport Society (ATRCVTS) has sought the intervention of the State Government on the reported ban on winger (taxi) service along Tiddim road.
In a press meet held at Keishampat, Secretary of ATRCVTS, M Oken said that the JAC formed in connection with the accident in Ningthoukhong area on September 30 evening has banned winger passenger service along Tiddim road from October 31 .
Regarding the incident, Lamphel police has registered a case and started investigation.
The police also took statements of various individuals including that of the president, secretary and time keeper of the association.
Due to imposition of the ban by the JAC, winger services on Imphal-CCpur, Imphal-Thanga, Imphal-Moirang, Imphal-Wangoo and Imphal-Kumbi routes have been paralysed.
Seeking the intervention of the Govt to find the culprits involved in the incident, Oken said the association is ready to extend support to every step of the police in finding out the culprits who are still at large.
He further warned of launching various forms of agitation if the Government fails to meet the demand.
