DElEd candidates left in the cold

The All Manipur NIOS DElEd Pass Out Teachers may approach Court against a decision that cancelled the candidature of those who appeared in the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) 2019 using NIOS DElEd (Diploma in Elementary Education) certificates.
The Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) had conducted the TET 2019, the results of which were declared on October 14.As the results were declared, the candidature of those who had appeared in the examination using DElEd certificates of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) were "cancelled" as "ineligible", said the candidates.
Results of as many as 5,205 candidates holding DElEd certificates were "cancelled" for a paper while another 1,585 candidates' results were cancelled for another paper, they said without naming the particular papers.
Regarding this issue, the candidates held a meeting on Sunday at Minuthong Hatta Mayai Leikai Community Hall and formed the All Manipur NIOS DElEd Pass Out Teachers, to carry out their future course of action on the issue.
The meeting also took several resolutions including the proposal to go to Court if the Board of Secondary Education Manipur doesn't review its decision that cancelled the results of the candidates who appeared in the examination using NIOS DElEd certificates.
Further, the meeting resolved that the BOSEM should also review the TET 2019 results.
If their appeals are not heard and acted upon, the candidates will boycott future processes for holding TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) and recruitment of Primary teachers, they said.
