Churachandpur, October 25 2022:
Regarding termination of service of some Anganwadi workers and helpers of Thanlon sub-division, Churachandpur District Anganwadi Mahila Organisation (CDAMO) president Veineilhing has said that CDAMO is not a bogus organisation but registered under the Manipur Societies Registration Act after its formation on October 24, 2014.CDAMO president Veineilhing's clarification came one day after Thanlon MLA's nominee (social welfare) K Paumuanthang said that 127 Anganwadi workers and helpers of Thanlon were terminated for not stationing in their places of postings and alleged CDAMO to be a bogus organisation instigating terminated Anganwadi workers and helpers to agitate.
Refuting K Paumuanthang's migration/settlement charge, Veineilhing said that many government employees posted in Thanlon apart from Anganwadi workers are staying in Churachandpur town.
Thanlon Anganwadi office is located at Salem Veng in the heart of Churachandpur town and hence workers and helpers have to stay in the town.
They can also be considered as staying at their posting places for 24X30 days as they tied up with CDPO and their respective supervisors to move to their places of posting to carry out assigned tasks, Veineilhing said and alleged that the entire affairs are outcome of electoral politics.
She further alleged that some Anganwadi workers and helpers who support the local MLA and never turn up at posting places were not among the 127 terminated Anganwadi worker and helpers.
According to Veineilhing, Anganwadi workers and helpers will naturally stay at their posting places if employees of other departments also station at Thanlon.
