Many call for humble Ningol Chakkouba celebration while extending best wishes

Ningol Chakkouba festival wishes pour in from all spheres ahead of the festival which will falls on October 27 (Thursday) this year.
All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) extended best wishes to the people of the State on the joyous occasion of Ningol Chakkouba festival which is one of the most significant festivals of the State celebrated to promote the bond of love and affection among the married daughters/sisters and their paternal especially with their brothers.
AMUCO in a press release while extending Ningol Chakkouba wishes prayed for a prosperous and joyous life of the Ningols.
Expressing concern on the impact of external forces trying to distort the true essence of this indigenous festival, AMUCO maintained that it is high time to discuss such issues so as to preserve the culture and tradition of Ningol Chakkouba festival.
With regards to the addition of lavish aspect to the festival, AMUCO appealed to all to celebrate the festival in a humble manner adhering to its values rather than focusing on presenting expensive gifts and so on.
Stressing on the need to make collective efforts to promote the indigenous products instead of relying on products of other States, AMUCO appealed to all to play their part and gift their love ones gifts made in Manipur.
Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) in a press release has appealed to all to celebrate the festival in its true spirit adhering to the traditional value setting aside all forms of practices which may distort the real essence of the festival such as presenting expensive gifts as dakhina and so on.
CADA also prayed for a peaceful, healthy and prosperous Manipur free from drugs and substance abuse and crime against women.
Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) while extending Ningol Chakkouba wishes appealed to refrain from all forms of activities which intends to degrade the spirit and significance of the festival.
MSF also appealed to the traders, shopkeepers and so on not to hike the prices of commodities taking advantage of the Ningol Chakkouba festival.
Eenat Yokkhat Lup also prayed for a prosperous and peaceful Manipur while greeting the people.
Wakhallon Mannaba Apuna (WAMA) Kangleipak while wishing the Ningols on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba informed that it will be organising a Ningol Chakkouba celebration at the residence of Kshetrimayum Inaocha at Kakching Ningthou Leikai on November 1.Patsoi Kendra Development Council and Dr Th Inaocha Singh, President/Convenor of Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress also extended Ningol Chakkouba wishes.
