The outlawed People's Liberation Army (PLA) claimed to have launched an attack at the 8th AR post located at Aigejang in Sajiktampak area this morning around 6.This is said to be the second attack on security forces by the outfit in two days wherein four IRB men were killed and six others injured.
However, official confirmation of the event is still awaited.
A statement dispatched to media houses this evening by department of Publicity chief of the RPF, GM Changjou claimed that the attack was launched by the A-Coy, 252 Bn of the PLA while the AR personnel were on their routine morning drill.
Two RPG shells, 70 rounds of M-79, and thousands rounds of AK, M-16 and LMG rifles were rained upon the AR camp, the statement claimed.
It suspected high casualties on the AR side.
Quoting the PLA cadres who were launching the attack, the statement maintained that many soldiers of the AR were seen falling on the ground and their barracks being destroyed.
Announcing that the outfit will intensify waging revolutionary war, the RPF statement informed that well-trained and heavily armed cadres of the outfit have started launching armed offensive against the 'IOF.' The RPF statement informed all concerned to initiate measures to dismiss SF camps in their localities while also appealing the people to extend support.
It stated that the Civic Action programmes of the Security Forces are meant to appease the people.
But when they sustained casualties, they used to turn their wrath against the innocent people.
It also reminded the people to be alert in order to avert the tragic incidents at Langjing, Heirangoithong, and Oinam wherein civilians suffered the rage of the SF.
The RPF also denounced the act of the SF in Sajiktampak area where poor villagers are restricted of free movement in the area.
