Imphal, February 24 2017:
Former BJP Manipur Pradesh RTI cell Convenor Hareshwar Goswami has joined Indian National Congress (INC) today after due approval of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) .
He was warmly welcomed to the party at a reception event at MPCC office which was participated by Chief Minister O Ibobi and several leaders of MPCC today evening.
Speaking at the event, Hareshwar Goswami said that he joined BJP believing that the party would bring change and progress and was capable of forming a clean and fair Government.
According to him, that belief came crumbling down after he saw the dubious process of giving party tickets to the candidates followed by the wastage of the public's money in the name of election.
"I decided to quit BJP and join the Congress party after seeing all the lies", he added.
Hareshwar said that the party even had a helicopter stationed at Imphal Tulihal airport, at the rate of more than Rs six lakh per day, for election purposes adding that it was highly probable the helicopter was also being used to transport funds during its trip to Guwahati.
"BJP is using the public's money.
BJP would not be able to perform anything even if it was given the chance to rule the State for 15 years like the Congress", he added.
It may be noted that Hareshwar Goswami contested the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly election as an All India Trinamool Congress candidate from Yaiskul A/C .
