Imphal, December 23 2018:
Following an emergency meeting yesterday, the Teacher's Association of JNIMS has resolved to take up various forms of agitation, including complete shutdown of JNIMS from January 3, if the State Government and the authority concerned fail to fulfil the demands of the association as well as the Senior residents of JNIMS at the earliest.
A press release issued by the general secretary of TA JNIMS mentioned that during the meeting which was held at JNIMS lecture hall yesterday, it was unanimously decided that JNIMS authorities have failed to provide any positive response regarding the long standing demands of the association (as well as the SRs) which were passed in the last emergency meeting held on December 14 (and which were duly communicated to the JNIMS authorities) .
It continued that during the meeting, it was resolved that all members of the association would wear black badges till December 26 and the members will resort to mass casual leave and sit in protest the next day, December 27 .
It was further resolved to launch a complete shutdown of JNIMS from January 3 next year if the demands are not met, the association warned adding that the association also decided to defer immediate agitation so as to give more time to the authorities as well as keeping the religious sentiments and the conveniences of the patients in mind.
The association further stated that any further negotiations will be done at the level of the Chief Minister and the president of JNIMS society.
The association also demanded the authorities concerned to defer/cancel the ongoing recruitment process of various faculty posts in the Dental College, JNIMS, until the present issues are resolved.
