EVP from Aug 16 to Sep 30: CEO

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manipur, PK Singh, has announced that an Electors Verification Programme (EVP) will be organised from August 16 to September 30 to improve the Electoral Rolls as a part of the Special Summary Revision 2020 .
Speaking to media persons at his office at Lamphelpat today, PK Singh said that the EVP will be organised so as to meet many targets set by the Election Commission of India (ECI) which include identifying minute details of the electors and photo correction and the move also aims to enhance and improve the delivery of electoral rolls and electoral services.
PK Singh urged the people/electors to identify whether the details in the electoral rolls are correct or not during the EVP which will begin from August 16 and conclude on September 30.Any errors can be corrected but during the correction, the electors should bring proper documents and items like Indian passport, driving license, Aadhaar, ration card, Govt/semi-Govt ID cards, bank passbook and farmer ID card etc, he explained.
The CEO further informed that electors can view and make necessary correction to their details through voter helpline mobile apps, NVSP portal, Common Service Centres (CSCs) or helpline number 1950 etc.
The electors can then submit their forms to the BLOs or EROs, he added.
PK Singh conveyed that from September 1 to 30, the BLOs will go to each household and verify the details of the electors.
They will also gather informations regarding any errors or details of those who have either moved away or are deceased or are yet to enrol.
The Integrated Draft Electoral Rolls will be published on October 15 and any claims and objections can be put forward from the same day till October 30, he said, adding that based on the final decision of the ECI, the Final Electoral Rolls will be published in between January 1 and 15 next year.
PK Singh stated that his office has signed an MoU with CSC Special Purpose Vehicle and informed that there are around 630 CSCs in the State and by paying a maximum of Rs 10, people can view their details in the electoral rolls, edit or correct any mistakes etc.
On the other hand, the CEO handed over a cheque of Rs 15 lakh each as ex-gratia to the family members of a security personnel, late Gouminlen Singson (escort of Kangpokpi Addl SP) and a civil employee, late W Lalkhaum Thangneo (a cinema operator at Lamka TD Block and a member of the Static Surveillance Team), who passed away while on duty during the 17th Lok Sabha Election.
