Imphal, August 02 2019:
Urging for fulfilment of their pending demands, Secretariat employees have launched an indefinite cease work strike from today under the aegis of the Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA) .
Notably, the MSSA has been demanding rectification of pay anomalies, re-designation of Grade Pay posts, amendment of service rules etc.
Rather than performing their duties, employees staged sit-in-protests at both the Old Secretariat and the New Secretariat from 9.45 am till 5 pm today.
On account of the cease work strike, normal activities of the Secretariat were severely affected.
Secretariat employees took mass casual leave earlier on July 27 in pursuit of their demands.
One MSSA functionary said that the office memorandum issued on July 31 by the Pay Implementation Cell, Finance Department in connection with revised pay, family pension and pension, and calculation of arrears further aggrieved employees.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the Cabinet meeting scheduled tomorrow at 5 pm has been re-scheduled at 9 am .
