URF dismisses Shinde's claim

Dismissing the claims of Union Home Minister, Shushil Kumar Shinde, the United Revolutionary Front has asseted that it and its armed wing, the Manipur Army will never surrender.
Significantly, Shinde, during a media briefing at New Delhi on March 11 had asserted that cadres of the URF and a faction of the KYKL would be surrendering within three months time.
A statement issued by its publicity secretary AK Pibarel said that the Home Minister's statement is baseless and is a propaganda to try and undermine the revolutionary movement being carried out by the outfit to regain the lost sovereignty of Manipur.
Taking serious note of the Home Minister's remarks, the Central Executive Committee of the outfit convened an emergency meeting at the military headquarters, said the statement and added that it was chaired by the chairman, Dr Achou Meitei.
The meeting was also attended by other members of the CEC including vice chairman Nawang Meitei, general secretary Korouhanba, home secretary Nonpoknganba Meitei, finance secretary Lemba Meitei, external affairs secretary M Khuman, organisation secretary Mangal Sana, law and justice secretary Yaiphaba Meitei, education and health secretary Tampha Sana, political affairs secretary Manganthoi and information and publicity secretary AK Pibarel, said the statement further.
Asserting that the URF would continue with the movement to regain the lost sovereignty of Manipur, the statement said that the outfit would never compromise the aspirations of the people.
