Imphal, March 13 2013:
United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has expressed surprise and shock over the statement of KNO dragging its (UKLF) name in the bomb attack incident at the Moreh residence of Sesei Zou, Chairman, MDC, Chandel.
KNO had alleged that a person by the name of Lalpu Mate, a former KNLF member, had joined UKLF and with the support of UKLF and another UG group, Lalpu Mate formed KPLF and this KPLF is behind the bomb attack at the residence of Sesei Zou in Moreh.
The KNO further alleged that the same person was also responsible for the attack on Jangmang Haokip, President, HTC, Moreh some time back.
However, UKLF is perturbed to see that KNO is trying its best to blacken its otherwise bright name, JM Thadou, Info.
& publicity Secy of UKLF said in a statement.
"In fact, we, UKLF, Sei Zou and Jangmang Haokip had no enmity or disagreement till date.
We strongly disapprove the bomb attack on the two leaders.
UKLF shares the pains they have suffered in the hands of some misguided people.
We also warn the perpetrators not to repeat such actions on social workers and public leaders in future", JM Thadou said.
He clarified that as far as Lalpu Mate is concern, UKLF knew him as a surrenderee to the AR authority and nothing more than that.
The UKLF has nothing to do with him.
His present status and condition would be best known to the AR authority.
"As far as the KPLF is concern, UKLF came to know the existence of such organization only from the press statement of the KNO yesterday.
Thus, it might be the handiwork of some officers of KNA if at all KPLF exists", JM Thadou asserted, adding 'Whatever the case might be, UKLF has not only have no hand or connection with the incidences, the man and the organization mentioned by the press release of the KNO.
It is an attempt to cover up the nefarious activities of some KNO officials' .
"Moreh town is the tactical HQ of the KNO/KNA and not a single UKLF cadre is present and we have no activity there.
If there is any incidence or activity at Moreh, KNA themselves are to be blamed since they are the only Kuki UG operating there.
There is no question of UKLF carrying out any activity in Moreh town", JM Thadou said, while asserting that the past arrest of some members of KNLF by AR revealed that they have connection with the KNA but now the blame is transferred on us.
This is very unfortunate" .
UKLF also earnestly appeal to the KNO/KNA not to tarnish the good image of the UKLF in future as it could only aggravate the animosity between the two organizations.
This not the time to play blame games but we should focus on the main agenda of the Kukis which is lying ahead of us, JM Thadou added.
