Monitoring team activated in CCpur

An expenditure monitoring team of seven groups, including income tax officials, has been activated here while five check posts have also come up to thwart any attempt to transport black money, officials said.
Speaking to the press today alongside the district officials, DP Haokip, Director IT North-eastern region said that even though the tribals here have been exempted of income tax, the department would initiate action based on the instruction of the ECI.
He further revealed that both giving and recieving of enticement would be considered a crime.
Demanding the peace and fair poll in the ensuing elections, DEO Jacintha Lazarus mentioned that signatories of the SoO have been issued an advisory to remain at their designated camps.
She also asked the licensed gun holders to submit their weapons to the police atleast a week before the poll.
There are around 4700 licensed gun holders in the district alone and their guns would be confisticated if they failed to submit in time, she added.
The DEO further cautioned candidates against any cash payment of more than Rs 20000 as the ECI directive requires them to do so only by account payee.
As for the utilization of Rs 8 lakhs, candidates would be depositing the amount at the bank, she added.
She also informed that a relaxation has been made for candidates of Thanlon, Tipaimukh and Henglep with a permission to withdraw the entire amount in two phases.
Meanwhile, incumbent IPR Minister TN Haokip today filed his nomination papers for Saikot AC and thus becoming the first individual to file nomination pepers for the 10th assembly election.
The DEO has so far issued over 54 nomination papers.
