Imphal, July 15 2015 :
Manipur People's Party staged a protest demonstration joining the popular demand for ILP outside the party's office today.
Party president N Sovakiran said the ILP issue would not have taken such an ugly turn had the State Government acted according to the will of the people.
Criticising the ruling Government over the MRVTMW Bill, he said the decision to withdraw a Bill after it was passed in the Assembly the same year is a matter of shame.
The State Government during the special Assembly session today has sought a three months time to frame a new Bill in favour of the people's demand.
Ridiculing the move, the MPP president said it is but another of the Congress' attempt to buy time so that the issue would settle on its own.
Sovakiran further expressed disappointment with the alleged indifference of the Government towards the death of Sapam Robinhood.
The protest demonstration was attended by MPP members.
