Robinhood JAC announces 12 hour bandh

In protest against seeking three months time to draft a new Bill by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, JAC constituted against the death of Sapam Robinhood has announced a 12-hour State-wide bandh with effect from 6 am to 6 pm on July 16 .
In a statement, the JAC has urged the organisations, meira paibi bodies, local clubs and general public to extend support to the bandh.
Significantly the mortal remains of Robinhood is yet to be claimed and it is still lying at JNIMS morgue.
Meanwhile apart from holding a condolence meeting at the Lairikyengbam Leikai residence of late S Robinhood, who was killed in police action against protesters demanding ILPS, the All Manipur Govt Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association (AMGHSLWA) handed Rs 10,000 to the parents of Robinhood for construction of a memorial site for the deceased student.
A large number of people from Oinam including students went to the residence of the late student and extended financial assistance to the family members of the late student.
To show solidarity to the late student, the people from Oinam said that they will organise a blood donation camp at RIMS tomorrw.
Over 100 people including students are expected to donate blodd tomorrow, they conveyed.
Amongst others, the condolence programme was attended by Indrani, Principal of CC Hr Sec School, Sumati of Ananda Singh Hr Sec Academy, Biren of Mekola Hr Sec School and Jadumani of Toloi Hr Sec School, said a statement.
President of the Association, M Debendra and general secretary M Joykumar spoke at the condolence ceremony.
Members of Film Forum, Manipur also visited the family members of the late student and extended their condolences and contributed whatever aid they could gather.
All Manipur Nupi Marup also held a similar condolence programme at Robinhood's residence today.
Several women leaders attended the programme, according to a statement.
The Koirengei Welfare Youth Club, Koirengei bazar held a condolence meeting on the death of Sapam Robinhood on July 12.The club shared the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family.
The club also submitted a memorandum to the PM of India seeking his intervention to extend ILPS to Manipur.
Condemnations too continue to pour in with Mayanglangjing Youth Library Club, condemning the killing of Sapam Robinhood and demanding fitting action against police personnel involved in the killing.
The club, in particular urged Lamsang MLA AC W Brajabidhu to take up necessary action taking cognizance of public sentiments.
Showing respect to Robinhood, the Club also pledged to join any movement launched by JCILPS.
