Eid greeting
Popular Front of India, Manipur State has extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-fitr.
The front appealed to all civil organisations, students bodies and NGOs not to call any bandh or general strike on Eid-ul-fitr.
Pensioners to stage protest
Manipur State Pensioners' Union, Imphal would stage a protest demonstration to demand immediate release of fix medical allowance and DA to pensioners on July 20 at Singjamei Chinga Keithel.
The decision to the effect was taken during an emergency meeting of the union held at its office premises today, a statement informed.
Scholarship exam
The State competitive scholarship examination for Class V and VIII for 2014-15 which was scheduled to be held on July 19 has been postponed to August 2 in view of the prevailing situation, according to a notification issued by the Director of Education (S) .
Haj pilgrims
The last date for depositing the balance for Haj amount has been extended till July 23 .
Selected Haj pilgrims who had already deposited the first instalment of Haj 2015 are informed to deposit the amount on or before July 23, said a statement issued by Manipur State Haj Committee.
AMNSDA condoles
The All Manipur Newspapers Sales and Distributors' Association has condoled the demise of its member Tokpam Hitler Singh of Khurai Laishram Leikai, who passed away on July 9 .
The association, in a statement, shared the grief of the bereaved family.
Plantation prog
Lions Club of Imphal City is conducting a plantation programme on July 19, 2015.About 500 ornamental tree/fruit saplings would be planted at Government Polytechnic, MIT and NIT campuses each on the day, a statement informed.
5 am to 5 pm
Curfew being imposed in Imphal West and Imphal East districts will be relaxed from 5 am to 5 pm tomorrow (July 16) .
Due official notifications have been issued in this regard.
