Programme on 'Skill India' organised

Imphal, July 15 2015 :
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Imphal East, organized a programme on "Skill India "on Wednesday to mark the World Youth Skills Day at Panchayat Bhavan, Porompat in IMphal East.
The programme was organised simultaneously with the launch of "Skill India" at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
M Joy Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East and T Itobi Singh, president of Manipur State Panchayat Parishad attended the programme as chief guest and president respectively.
P Loken, vice president of Indian Council of Small Industry (ICSI), Kolkata, emphasized the need to develop skill sets in the youth today in the society where job opportunities are very less.
M Joy Singh urged the youth to take part in training programmes organised by NYK from time to time.
He also said that the aim of the policy is to skill 24 lakh youths across India over the next one year.
