NIA raids Lamyanba Pakhang, seizes audit reports, hard disc

Imphal, April 27 2011: Sleuths of National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted a raid at the complex of Lamyanba Pakhang located at Palace Compound here.

The raid was conducted by a team of NIA led by its SP Pani from 9.50am to 4.20 pm.

The campus of Lamyanba was strictly kept off limit for the civilians, including the staff of the daily newspaper Ereibak which is published there.

The complex of Lamyanba Pakhang houses the office of Ereibak daily, Lamyanba Printers, Lamyanba Gymnasium, Lamyanba Polo Club and the newly constructed Lamyanba building.

It is said that during the raid the NIA team have confiscated one diary of 2003 containing 162 pages, the audit reports of 2007 60 2011, annual statement ending March 31 this year, papers regarding issue of ISBN numbers for publishing agency, registration certificate, an order of the SDO Imphal East, meeting notices and photocopies of the Gift Deeds from the drawer of Taorem Mangi, who is the manager of Lamyanba Printers.

In addition, the seizure list of the NIA mentioned confiscation of hard disk of a PC which was placed in the room of the Editor of Ereibak.The seizure memo has been signed by two officers of the Office of Accountant General (Audit), Manipur as witnesses.
