Guwahati, June 16 2015 :
Security forces are wary of a Manipur-like ambush in Nagaland.
According to Assam Rifles, deployed for counter-insurgency operations in the State, movement of a group of 20 militants of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) faction was noticed in Dimapur district recently.
The ultras are said to be looking for opportunities to carry out an attack on the security forces.
The NSCN-K, along with Manipur insurgent groups Kanglei Yawol Kunna Lup and Kangleipak Communist Party, had carried out an attack on 6 Dogra Regiment at Chandel in Manipur recently, killing 18 soldiers and injuring several others.

"An alert has been sounded, particularly on National Highway 2 from Dimapur to Kohima districts.
We received reports about the movement of rebels in places close to the highway.
Apparently, they visited the areas to carry out a recce," a senior Assam Rifles official told Express from Nagaland.
"It is a very dangerous thing.
Possibly, they have plans to ambush the convoy of security forces.
But we are on high alert and ready to hit back," he said.
The NH-2 connects Nagaland with Manipur.
The Army's 3 Corps is based at Rangapahar on the outskirts of Dimapur, which is the State's major commercial hub.
Apart from Nagaland, the 3 Corps controls Manipur and some other States.
Dozens of its vehicles, along with those belonging to the police and paramilitary forces, ply on the highway every day.
Police said they have not received any specific input about possible attacks by the NSCN-K, but admitted that the threat perception was high.
