Covid: State's cumulative cases rise to 1,24,186

Imphal, November 09 2021:
With 49 new Covid cases reported in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has risen to 1,24,186 while the death toll has increased to 1,938 as 1 unvaccinated person succumbed to the disease in the period.
The positive cases from the general populations were from Imphal East (18), Imphal West (22), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Tengnoupal (3) and Ukhrul (1) .
As the 49 samples (including 1 personnel from CAPF) out of 2172 samples tested at various testing centres, the positivity rate thus registered was 2.3 percent.
All districts except Tengnoupal reported a test positivity rate (TPR) below 5 percent.
TPR of Tengnoupal stood at 13.0 with 3 samples returning positive out of 23 samples tested.
With 40 individuals discharged today from home isolation (8), RIMS (3), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (19), the State has 707 active cases.
The recovery rate of the State is 97.87% .
The single death that was reported in the last 24 hours was an unvaccinated individual from Ukhrul.
The cumulative fatalities has now reached 1938 .
Altogether 9,839 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered on November 8 .
As of yesterday the State has administered a total of 20,17,077 doses including 12,54,557 1st doses and 7,62,520 2nd doses.
Jiribam, Imphal West and Kakching have the highest rate of vaccination (both doses) having vaccinated 47.51, 46.98 and 42.58 percents of eligible populations in the districts respectively while Kangpokpi with 9.19 percent, Ukhrul (14.09 percent) and Kamjong (15.96 percent) performed the worst in Covid vaccinations.
