MNCA Men's U-19 Trophy: PCC, PTRC make light work of opponents

PCC and PTRC recorded commanding wins in Tuesday's league matches of the 3rd MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy 2024-25.PCC inflicted a crushing 10-wickte defeat on RULE in their clash at Lairenjam Public Ground.
PCC chased down a modest target of 117 in just 10 overs without losing a wicket.
Opting to bat first, RULE were bundled out for 116 in 33.3 overs.
Captain Rojit Singh Angomcha top-scored with a steady 30 off 31 balls, while Sanathoi Sanjenbam contributed 27 .
However, the rest of the batting lineup faltered against a disciplined PCC bowling attack.
Lucky Thokchom was the star bowler for PCC, claiming six wickets for just 13 runs in his eight overs, including three maidens.
Boocker Kangujam and Leishangthem Nelson Singh provided support, taking two and one wicket respectively.
In reply, PCC's openers, Lucky Thokchom and Boocker Kangujam, dismantled RULE'S bowling with aggressive strokeplay.
Thokchom remained unbeaten on 55 off 34 balls, striking four boundaries and five sixes, while Kangujam blazed his way to 56 off just 26 deliveries, including two fours and five sixes.
Their partnership of 117 came at a blistering pace, sealing the win in double-quick time.
RULE's bowlers had no answers to the onslaught, with Rojit Singh Angomcha conceding 40 runs in his two overs, including six maximums.
The extras tally of six (four wides and two byes) did little to help their cause.
In another one-sided match, PTRC romped to a 9-wicket win over SCCC at Khudeiband Lampak.
SCCC won the toss and opted to bat first but were bowled out for a meagre 59 runs in 21.4 overs.
Their innings never gained momentum, with only captain Jimmy Dinam offering resistance, top-scoring with 27 runs off 40 balls.
PTRC's bowlers were relentless, with Tamarland Pheiroijam (4 wickets for 5 runs) and Henba Paonam (4 wickets for 12 runs) leading the charge.
In reply, PTRC chased down the target in just 5.1 ove rs, finishing at 60/1.Salam Richie was the star with an unbeaten 33 off 14 balls, striking at an impressive 235.71, while Mangal Sagolsem contributed 14 off 13 before falling to Rojesh Athokpam.
Elsewhere, AL-AMEEN edged out PTCC by just 4 runs.
Batting first, AL-AMEEN posted 101 all out in 25.4 overs, with Maibam Ashique top-scoring (49 off 41 balls).
PTCC fought hard but were bowled out for 97in 20.4 overs, thanks to Umar's brilliant 4-wicket haul (30 runs) and Harishor Mayngbam's 4/15.The match went down to the wire, with AL-AMEEN securing a narrow victory.
SHADOW, meanwhile, claimed a 31-run triumph over YPHUC.
SHADOW posted 160 all out in 23.5 overs, propelled by Kh Devis' explosive 44 (21 balls) .
YPHUC were bowled out for 129 in 23.3 overs, with Sagatpam Lanchenba starring for SHADOW, taking 5 wickets for 38 runs.
Irom Sunny Singh (5/50) and Irom Ishor (2/25) also impressed, but SHADOW'S all-round performance sealed the win.
