Thoubal Dist One Day Cricket : Al Ameen, WYC secure successive wins

Imphal, March 13 2019: Al Ameen, Lilong and WYC, Wangkhem continued their fine form to extend their winnings ways at the Thoubal District One Day League Cum Knock Out Cricket Tournament organised by Thoubal District Cricket Association at Thoubal Moijing Playground.

The first match of the day saw Al Ameen secured a 2 wicket win against HCC, Moijing.

HCC Moijing were restricted to 160 for 8 in their quota of 30 overs after winning the toss.

Sabakhan was one run away from half century mark when he departed and Nitrajit was four runs short of the same in this innings to make it 160 at the end.

Vishorjit, Abdullah and Nawaz of Al Ameen made a concerted effort in this innings and took two wickets each.

The chase went smoothly as Nawaz Sarif knocked 69 off 66 balls while Abdullah hit a half century of 50 balls as they cruised to 161 runs with 2.2 overs and 2 wickets left in the hand.

Subakhan and Maruching of HCC was able to pick up two wickets each.

Nawaz Sharif was then adjudged man of the match.

The second match was almost of the similar end as TQC, Tentha were bowled out for 140 in 29.3 overs before WYC, Wangkhem chased down the target in 19.4 overs with 4 wickets left in the hand.

Baboy of TQC made a perfect start hitting 64 runs but the remaining order failed to face fine bowling performances of the Wangkhem side.

Angoton also added 24 runs for the team in this innings before Biteshore of WYC picked up three wickets and his team-mates Priyo and Mango fetched two wickets each.

WYC's Sarju and man of the match, Biteshore then hit 48 and 22 runs respectively to seal the victory.

Suresh of TQC managed two wickets in this innings while Samsun and Sonaman claimed one wicket apiece.

CAL, Masjid Road will take on LCIC, Mairenkhun in tomorrow's morning session while HCC will face WYC in the evening session.
