Playoff: CYCLONE cruise past CHAMP into Elite tourney final

Imphal, April 24 2024:
In a playoff of between the top-two teams, CYCLONE outclassed CHAMP by 82 runs to sail into the final of the MNCA Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium here on Wednesday.
Despite their defeat in the Qualifier 1, CHAMP still have another chance to enter the final if they beat either PTRC or TRAU in the Qualifier 2, scheduled for April 28, 2024 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, Luwangsangbam.
PTRC and TRAU, who had finished third and fourth in the league standings, will fight it out in the Eliminator match on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground for a spot in the Qualifier 2 .
The final match will take place on May 2, 2024 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground.
CYCLONE scored 190/9 after deciding to bat.
Muhammed Al Bashid smashed 75, Bikash Singh hit 39 and Kishan Laishram made 33 to help the Thangmeiband squad post a decent total in the stipulated 40 overs.
CYCLONE then dished out a brilliant bowling display to end CHAMP's run chase in 34.5 overs for 108.Kishan Laishram and Abdul Kasim did the most damage to the CHAMP batting order, picking up three wickets each, while Loktongbam Santosh Meitei and Nongmaithem Suraj Singh chipped in with two scalps apiece to take their side to the final.
In their chase, Narsingh Yadav was the lone performer, scoring 33 for the Khagempalli team.
Earlier, Md Sultan Karim, Nitesh Sedai and Thingbai-jam Nicholson Singh each claimed two wickets while Keisham Ravishankar Singh, Moirangthem Thomas Singh and Mohd Ahsanul Kabir took one wicket each for CHAMP.
Meanwhile, RULE and Al-Ameen have been relegated to the Superplate Season 2024-2025 .
