T-20: RCA beat TCMDC by 20 runs; PTRC's strong start cut short by rain

RCA clinched a 20-run victory over TCMDC in the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy at Lairenjam Public Ground on Sunday.
Put in to bat, RCA's batsmen weathered the initial pressure before accelerating in the middle overs to post 152/7 in their 20 overs.
RCA's innings was anchored by contributions across the board.
Openers Mohd Nasirshah Alam Nongjaimayum (18 off 19) and Md Alfash (12 off 16) provided a cautious start before Syed Hussain (26 off 23) steadied the innings after early wickets.
The real impetus came from Md Danish Khan (29 off 22) and Naesh Hussain (18 off 9), whose aggressive strokeplay, including three sixes between them, propelled RCA past the 150-mark.Kongbraliatpam Kalyan Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with 3/28, including the key wickets of Alfash and Danish Khan.
Aziz Mirza (2/16) and Rain Urikhimbam (1/24) kept things tight, but RCA's lower order, particularly Zuned (10 off 5), ensured a strong finish.
Chasing 153, TCMDC began brightly with Kongbraliatpam Kalyan Sharma (20 off 15) and Maibam Ashokumar (32 off 27) adding 50 for the first wicket.
However, the innings lost steam after Ashokumar's dismissal, caught by RCA skipper Syed Hussain off Aziz Mirza.
Laishram Vivekananda Singh (39 off 39) held the innings together, but regular wickets, including a golden duck for captain Sarangthem Priyobrata Singh, derailed the chase.
TCMDC managed 132/8, falling short despite a fighting partnership in the middle order.
For RCA, Aziz Mirza (2/16), Naesh Hussain (2/26), and MD Danish khan (2/28 snapped two wickets apiece, while Illiyas took one in their triumph.
Meanwhile, the league match between PTRC and KCDO was cut short by rain at Khudelband Lampak.
KCDO opted to bat first but were bundled out for a modest 75 runs in just 13.5 overs.
Captain Bikram Phamdom top-scored with 11, while Laitonjam Jackson Singh (3/10) and Bush Sagolsem (2/7) starred with the ball for PTRC .
In reply, PTRC's Raj Kumar Rex Singh launched a blistering start, smashing 20 runs off just 6 balls, including 3 fours and a six.
However, rain interrupted play after just 0.5 overs, with PTRC at 22/0 .
The match was eventually abandoned.
