20th Veteran Cricket Tournament : LCCC beat YUCC by 2 wickets to top Group B

Imphal, January 03 2024: LCCC-Lilong Chajing defeated YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirangpurel by 2 wickets in the clash for Group B pole position in the 20th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.

YUCC piled up 174 runs for 8 wickets in 30 overs after winning the toss and opting to bat first.

But LCCC chased down the target in 29.1 overs on the back of a half century from Tarun 50 and significant contributions from Krishna 34 and Gulshan 24 .

For YUCC, Santosh 36, Noushad Ali 26, Somorjit 29 and I Doren 28 were the main run getters.

LCCC's Jilla picked three wickets (3/22 in 6 overs) in YUCC's innings as Jiten and Akbar claimed a wicket apiece.

For YUCC, Noushad claimed three wickets (3/28) and Santosh (2/19) and Somorjit (2/25) shared two wickets each in a lost cause.

L Krishna of LCCC was adjudged man of the match.

KCC will play ESU in the penultimate Group C match tomorrow.
