Imphal East Shooting Competition 2018 concludes

Imphal, May 16 2018: Francy Kshetrimayum broke her own record in the junior women 10 m 0.177 peep sight air rifle event of the 9th Imphal East District Shooting Competition 2018 which concluded today.

The competition was organised by Imphal East District Rifles Association at Khuman Lampak Shooting Range.

She scored 384 points bettering her 372 points (out of 400 points) feat in 2015 to finish first.

Francy also finished first in the junior women 50 m sports rifle prone event with a total score of 519 points.

Highlights of other events Men's individual competition .

Rohan Thangjam scored a total of 375 points in the men's individual 10 m 0.177 peep sight air rifle event while Nongmaithem Jubaraj Singh amassed 380 points to finish first in both junior and sub-junior 10 m 177 peep sight air rifle event .

Mangalba Heishnam (IE) finished second with 349 points in the junior men's 10 m 0.177 peep sight air rifle event while he finished third in the sub-junior 10 rri 0.177 peep sight air rifle event.

Nongmaithem Jubaraj also set a new record in the individual junior men's 50 m rifle prone with a total of 526 points out of 600 points which was 13 points better than previous record set by M Malemnganba in 2015.Aribam Pravin Sharma also finished second with a total score of 525 points in the same event.

Aribam Pravin Sharma finished second in the individual sub-junior men's 10 m .177 peep sight air rifle event with a total score of 354 points.

Konsam Nabachandra Singh scored 126 points to win the 10 m .177 peep sight air rifle competition for veteran men.

In the individual men's 10 m air pistol event, Khagemba Loukrakpam (IE) shot for 374 points to finish first while Kabib K and L Dinachandra finished second and third with 360 and 358 points respectively.

With this, Khagemba Loukrakpam also finished first in the junior men's individual event while Jupiter Ashem got 319 points to stay second in the junior category of the same event.

Khulakpam Yasir Ahamed of JSR stood first in the sub-junior men's 10 m air pistol event with a total score of 335 points while Bikash Loushambam (IE) finished second with 332 points.

Herikonba Mangangcha (IE) was able to clinch the third place with a score of 330 points.

Yasir Ahamed also finished first in the 25 m sports pistol event for junior men with a score of 227 points out of 300 points while Jupiter Ashem (JSR) and Jenish (JSR) Moirangthem scored 194 and 160 points respectively to finish second and third.

In the men's 25 m standard pistol event, G Shyamkanhai Sharma scored 256 points (300 total) to finish first while Kabib K and Pangambam Kunjabihari Singh scored 232 points and 230 points respectively to claim the second and the third spot.

Jupiter Ashem of JSR hit 171 points (300 total) to win junior men's individual 25 m standard pistol title.

Maibam Luyaba shot 471 points (total 600 points) to claim the 50 .22 open sight std rifle prone event for men while Khamnam Ratan Kumar Meitei scored 465 points to finish second.

Phurailatpam Rahul Sharma (IE) scored 354 points in the 10 m air pistol event for junior men (novices) to break the record set by N Randiv Singh with 332 points in 2009.Soibam Rohan who scored 330 points claimed the second spot while Khwairakpam Amushana Singh of JSR scored 281 points to finish third.

Women's individual competition .

Personi Bachaspatimayum of JSR scored a total of 337 out of 400 points to win the sub-junior women 10 m 0.177 peep sight air rifle event while Langpoklakpam Chanchan Devi of the same unit finished second with 316 points.

Jeni Taoem of JSR also scored 287 points to finish third in this event.

Yaiphabi Talem of (I/E) claimed the women individual 10 m air pistol title with a record 365 points breaking previous record of 351 points set by L Messiah Devi in 2015 .

Sylvia Loukrakpam and Pinkey Chandam of I/E also claimed the second and the third spot with 349 point and 309 points respectively.

Sylvia Loukrakpam claimed with the same score claimed both the sub-junior and junior 10 m air pistol title.

Khulakpam Sultana (IE) scored 313 points to finished second in 10 m air pistol junior women competition while Yumnam Yasana of JSR claimed the third place with 207 points.

Thoudam Merisana (340 pts) and Thingbaijam Salvia (265 pts) of IE finished second and third in the sub-junior women 10 m air pistol event.

Helish Angom of JSR set a new record in the 10 -m .

177 peep sight air rifle junior women event scoring 317 points (out of 400 points) breaking the previous record set by Taorem Shilpa Devi, IPS with 312 points last year.

RK Kalpana (289 pts) and Syed Salima (274 points) of JSR claimed the second and the third spot.

In the women's 25 m sports pistol event, Pinkey (IE) Chamdam shot for 179 points (300 total) to win the title while Punam Angom of (IE) broke the record set by' L Shellyna (188 pts in 20 L5) scoring a total of 226 points to claim junior women 25 m sports pistol title.

Ahanthem Bina of IE set a record in the women 50 m .22 open sight std rifle prone event with a total 411 points.

The closing ceremony of the competition participated by 24 male shooters and 20 female shooters was attended by RK Darendrajit, IRS, Asst Commissioner Custom Division, Kabib K, IPS, SP CID and N Indrajit Singh, president Imphal East District Rifles Association as dignitaries who also gave away prizes to the winners.
