13th Manipur State League : NACO edge AIM 2-1 as Premjit scores four in SSU's 5-2 win over AFC

Imphal, February 11 2020: P Ajangpu Kabui scored a brace to help NACO, Nambul Mapal kick off their 13th Manipur State League campaign with a 2-1 wins against AIM, Khabam today at Football Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.

The day also saw SSU, Singjamei brush aside AFC, Thoubal by 5-2 goals thanks to Th Premjit Singh's 4 goal feat.

AIM and NACO failed to create spark in the opening half except for few attempts that went wide making it anyone's game until P Ajangpu Kabui made his effort count in the 51 st minute to NACO 1 -0 up.

Ajangpu was at the target again three minutes past the hour mark making it 2-0 for his team.

AIM which were reeling under huge pressure however pulled back a goal in the 81 st minute through David Ngaihte but their latter efforts were averted with ease by NACO strong defence set up ensuring their team all three points.

N Shantanu of AIM (42') and NACO's N Steven (52'), S Kullarson Anal (66') and P Ajangpu (79') were yellow carded by the referees.

Meanwhile in the 7th match of the tournament, SSU started slowly and took a slender 1 -0 lead through Th Premjit's strike during the stoppage time of the first half.

After the restart, Th Premjit doubled SSU's advantage with brilliant finish in the 52nd minute before completing his treble ten minutes latter and took his team 3-0 past the Thoubal side.

AFC which were reeling under immense pressure from SSU attack managed a goal back in the 75th minute through S Thomas who also scored completed his brace in the 84th minute to make it 2-3 .

The Thoubal side however failed to preserve their momentum and lose further ground lately with Dangshawa W scoring for SSU in the 87th minute before Th Premjit slammed home the final nail three minutes into the stoppage time.

N Sushilkumar (48') of SSU and AFC's S Thomas (33'), Th Suraj (38'), A Ratan (55') and Sahidur Rahaman (64') saw yellow cards in this one sided match.

KLASA, Keinou will meet YPHU, Lalambung in the 8th league match of the tournament tomorrow from 12.15 pm before DM RAO play SU, Sagolband from 2.15 pm .
