3rd SAIPO Cup SSC Sekta carve out convincing win

Imphal, June 02 2014: SSC Sekta were in their elements today as they packed off Robin Jewellery by an impressive margin of 6 goals to 1 in the first semi-final of the 3rd SAIPO Football Club today.

Though it was Robin Jewellery which drew first blood in the 8th minute of the match, the players from SSC Sekta came back strongly and to thrash the rival team by a margin of 6 goals to one.

From the first whistle, Robin Jewellery went on the offensive and they went ahead in the 8th minute of the match when W Nganba managed to beat the custodian of SSC Sekta with a powerful shot.

The early reversal jolted the players of Sekta and they went on the offensive, hunting for the breakthrough and come back into the match.

Their relentless attack finally bore fruit in the 12th minute, when an unmarked W Ngouba found himself well placed to take a shot that was bang on target.

The equaliser only gave more energy to the players from Sekta and they continued with the attack and K Naoba found the net in the 20th minute to put his team ahead.

Y London added another goal in the 26th minute and followed it up with another in the 38th minute.

K Naoba was at it again when he netted the ball in the 44th minute to literally take the match away from Robin Jewellery.

Y Inaobi added another in the 55th minute.
