Imphal, April 25 2024: PTRC, Patsoi Part IV strolled into the second qualifier in the 8th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament playoffs with an emphatic 105 -run victory over TRAU, Kwakeithel in the eliminator match.

Opting to bat first at Luwangpokpa Cricket, PTRC racked up 238 runs for 9 wickets riding on Ngariyanbam Jameson and bowled out TRAU for 133 runs in 34.2 overs to keep their title hopes alive after having finished third in the league round.

PTRC were slow off their blocks and were 10/1 in 10 overs after Ngariyanbam Johnson was caught behind by Prafullomani on 32 off the Kangabam Priyojit's second delivery in the 7th over.

Slow left arm orthodox bowler Naorem Anand further reduce PTRC to 67/2 by removing Kh Santosh for 11 runs in the 17th over before Ngariyanbam Jameson who came in at third kept the scoreboard ticking with Jotin Pheiroijam and take the total past the 100-run mark in the 25th over.

After forging 60-runs, Jotin was caught out on 29 for the third wicket by Amritakaran Yumnam at short mid-on off the bowling of Thounaojam Rishikanta in the 28th over.

Jameson held on and completed his half century off 70 balls with a single in the 29th over and saw incoming Chingakham Bidash depart for 35 runs in the 33.1 overs to right arm pacer Somorjit Salam before he holed out to Priyojit Kangabam for 72 runs in the 37th over off the first delivery of Puinachandra Anoubam after taking PTRC to 201 .

Somorjit Salam then bowled out RK Rex on 35 for the 6th wicket in the third delivery of the 38th over before completing his third wicket haul by bowling out incoming Tamarland on duck the next delivery.

Medium pacer Puinachandra Anoubam returned to undone Loitongbam Shitaljit on 4 for the 8th wicket forcing PTRC to culminate innings at 238/9 .

Somorjit Salam returned with the best bowling figures of 3/49 in 8 overs as Puinachandra finished with 2/56 in 8 overs.

Chasing 239 for the win, TRAU kept losing wickets in regular intervals despite Yumnam Karnajit's 41-ball 35 and slumped to 133 all out in 34.2 overs.

Medium pacer Jotin Pheiroijam inflicted early damage by bowling out Pukhrambam Prafullomani for a 7-ball duck in the 5th over before Chingakham Bidash joined the party by bowling out Karnajit and Priyojit Kangabam 12 for the second and third wickets in the 11th and the 13th overs.

Slow left arm orthodox bowler Khaidem Joyraj piled further misery on TRAU and reduced them to 83/5 by removing the fourth and the fifth wickets cheaply in the 15th and 19th overs.

PTRC's Khaidem Joyraj then bowled out Nongmaithem Bishworjit on 11 for the 6th wicket before TRAU added any run to their tally.

TRAU further slipped to 94/7 with Tamarland bowling out Y Amritakaran on 3 to complete his three wicket haul before RK Rex ran riot to sweep the last three wickets and returned with the bowling figures of 3/30 in 5.2 overs.

Tamarland returned with the best figures of 3/20 in 8 overs for the Patsoi team but RK Rex was adjudged man of the match for his all-round feat today.

PTRC will now face CHAMP CC in the second qualifier on April 28 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium for the remaining final berth.
